It's pervasive, isn't it? The strides in artificial intelligence (AI) have woven their way into every corner of our daily existence. Yet, despite AI's longstanding presence, its current surge ignites a whirlwind of awe, intrigue, and apprehension.
Conceptual AI began to appear in modern culture in the early 20th century. Humanoid characters such as The Tin Man in the “Wizard of Oz” or Maria in “Metropolis” brought the idea of artificial intelligence to life. By the 1950s, AI was introduced into computers. The term "artificial intelligence" was coined in 1956 at the Dartmouth Conference. So, in terms of practical development, AI is over 70 years old.
AI can be defined as the simulation of human intelligence processes by computer systems. This encompasses the ability of machines to perceive their environment, reason about it, learn from past experiences, and make decisions or predictions based on that information. AI involves various techniques and methodologies, including but not limited to machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, robotics, and expert systems.

However, today, we tend to think of the more modern forms of this emerging technology and relate it to creating vast new worlds, seamlessly changing our appearance, or even making us better photographers. But as with any technology, there is a danger of overreliance on automation.
AI has been increasingly integrated into various aspects of photography in recent years, particularly with advancements in image processing, recognition, and enhancement techniques, including:
Image recognition and classification – AI algorithms can identify objects, scenes, and people within images, enabling features like automatic tagging and organization in photo libraries.
Image enhancement – AI-powered tools can enhance image quality, adjust lighting, remove noise, and even alter compositions to improve aesthetics.
Content creation – AI algorithms can generate or assist in generating images, designs, and compositions based on user input or predefined parameters.
Image editing – AI tools can automate certain aspects of the editing process, such as retouching, color correction, and background removal.
